Description:

The mixed development is comprised of 3/4 bedroom houses, apartments, live/work units, commercial units and marina administration facilities organized around a number of central spaces and a 30 berth marina.

The traditional aspects of Irish villages have been carefully studied to create a set of design principles that guide this proposed development.

These designs propose buildings with a modern interpretation which will be ecologically sensitive, highly energy efficient and utilize micro renewable energy sources. It is proposed to use sedum roofs in selected locations and these along with the use of sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS) and water retention ponds will help alleviate the effects of rainwater run -off and flooding, while also enhancing the site's biodiversity.

This mixed-use residential development seeks to create a more meaningful, varied low energy and environmentally sensitive living environment in close proximity to the centre of the existing village.
